I didn't have the pleasure of knowing Bill Russell or Pop as everyone knows him. Yesterday was the one year anniversary of his death. Dave, his mother and I went to visit the grave site. It was washed in the vibrant colors of Fall. Here are a few photos, then a poem at the bottom.

A Continuation

 Who can quiet the wind
or settle the tides-
Capture a snowflake
and not expect it to melt?

Life is brought into the world,
but can't be prevented from leaving-
Even Summer loses its
warming heat.

Life in bloom, is vibrant
but far to short and
one's breath hushes.

while death touches the soul,
it does not control forever

As each new day
brings the rise of dawn,
so too life will continue-
for it is meant to be.

You Michiganders are a couple weeks ahead of us with the fall foliage. Good stuff! That's a nice part of the country up there.
