Lie Tender 55

Lies,

they're buried beneath
delicate flowers, in different
stages of growth

Those soft petals
you've stroked,
pretending to love.

However, the brusies
are irrefutable evidence
of your personal touch-

Like your lies.

When you're exposed,
you blame the seeds
the soil
the garden
and the flowers -
but in reality,

YOU were the reason the garden grew

Note: This is a shortened version of a poem I have on my Poetic Blog. Sometimes people get so caught up in what they're doing, they don't see how it affects someone else, the effect being emotional and mental damage.

Oh, this one took a dark turn. So sorry to hear it's based on something real, but very artfully penned.

I think that happens a lot more than anyone wants to admit.

Yes, and some hurtful lies are more intentional than others. There are people who, for reasons of their own, simply cannot be honest.

Oh, this cuts deep. And what Brian says is too true... I'd say "Bravo" but I'm still rubbing the sore spots. Nevertheless, it is very beautiful. Here's mine: New Deal

This one is special. Very deep, but with a lilting flow to it.
